Background
Beyond Expectation Environmental Project (BEEP) is a registered Non Profit Organisation & Public Benefit Organization.
It was conceived and founded by Lindela Mjenxane with an aim to address and educate the youth around environmental issues and social challenges but using nature as a platform. . We realised the need to expose the youth from impoverish communities to our natural heritage which is also our national monument.
Why the project is unique
Young people in the townships are often
trapped in an environment dominated by:
- grinding poverty
- drug and alcohol abuse
- large scale unemployment
- wide scale littering and a badly
degraded physical environment
BEEP aims to give selected groups of students an opportunity to break free of this environment.
Expected Outcomes
We want to effect change in our
communities. We want to see the
difference in our schools.
We want the young people with whom we have interacted, to share their
knowledge and what they have learnt with their schoolmates, their friends and their families.
